Earth-Based Astronomy
Most of the astronomical concepts described here are focused on what can be observed in the sky from the Earth. This Earth-based approach to astronomy can also be thought of as a geocentric description of phenomena in the sky and is intended specifically to help understand astronomical principles as applied to archaeoastronomy investigations. Most of the time information will be limited to naked eye observation from the ground with some explanation of the underlying mechanics interspersed.
