Archaeoastronomy DatabaseThe Archaeoastronomy Database is a crowd-sourced compilation of investigations and observations of astronomical connections that can be objectively demonstrated at ancient sites whether intended by the builders or not. The goal is to collect as much data as possible in a searchable and categorized format so that observations can build on one another and in aggregate might contribute to our overall knowledge of the past. Proposed Astronomical Connections
See the video above for details and illustration of proposed alignments between Dowth and nearby Newgrange, as well as the solar alignments of the passage and possible lunar connections as well.
Also: The more recently discovered remains of a passage tomb at nearby Dowth Hall would have been visible from Dowth, probably against the horizon (depending on original height), and interestingly this is along an alignment declination of 6° which happens to be ¼ of total declination (and rough distance along horizon) from Equinox (0°) to Summer Solstice (~24° in the Neolithic).
